Bentley Corniche (1971-1984)

Bentley Corniche cabriolet

Introduced in 1967 in its convertible version under the name Bentley T-Series, the first monocoque model of the English brand, the Corniche denomination arrived in 1971 at Bentley as well as at Rolls-Royce where it replaced the Silver Shadow. This model is therefore sold under both British brands, with some aesthetic differences in the grille notably. The original design comes from the designer Bill Allen, which remained unchanged during the 28 years of production of the model! This strong similarity with the Rolls-Royce Corniche did not benefit the Bentley variant, as buyers preferred to opt for a Rolls-Royce with a more prestigious image. In the early 1970s, Bentley Corniche production rarely exceeded 200 units per year, whereas in 1974, 2900 Rolls-Royce Corniche were sold... The distinctive design of this model and its image of refinement and luxury make it one of the cars that marked its era, as evidenced by its multiple appearances in movies like the James Bond saga, for example.
