The BMW 3 Series E21 Baur made its appearance in the BMW range in 1977, two years after the marketing of the "classic" E21. Resulting from the collaboration between the manufacturer and the German coachbuilder, the E21 Baur is the second BMW model on which the "Top-Cabriolet" of Baur is installed (4595 examples will be modified until 1982) after the BMW 2002. The initials of the "Top-Cabriolet" system were even used to name this version of the E21, called BWM E21 TC1. This naming rule was later used on a certain BMW E30 Baur TC2... The production of the E21 Baur model was quite original. Indeed, when the convertible option was selected at the time of the purchase of the vehicle (an option which increased the price of the vehicle by almost 30%), the examples were sent to Baur who took care of dismantling the undesirable parts to install the roll bar and the soft top elements. A true pioneer in the convertible market, the E21 TC1 Baur is today a prized collector's car that deserves to be restored!
