Soft top in Alpaca Twillfast®:

Technical characteristics:

  • 3-layer canvas made by Haartz :
    - Exterior: 100% acrylic fabric, twill weave
    - Interior: Mixed texture, waffle weave
    - Upper intermediate rubber
  • Double glued folded roof seams ensuring a perfect seal
  • Waterproof seams on the underside
  • Edging of the soft top in Alpaca
  • Hood without side pocket

Rear window identical in thickness and quality to the O.E.M:

  • rear window tinted green
  • 100/100 thick polished pvc bezel from Wopavin
  • Double stitching around the rear window
  • rear window mounted on Zip
  • Plastic finishing profile around the rear window

Details that make the difference:

  • Rear window of the soft top mounted on zip
  • Plastic profile sewn to the fabric in front of the side cable
  • Plastic profiles for side window attachment
  • does not have the reinforcement above the rear window,
  • does not have the elastics above the rear window (originally the elastics were only in place on models with a headliner) if necessary you can order elastic ref DA01148 and sew it to the soft top (see a professional)
  • the front profile is to be recovered from the old soft top or glue the canvas without using a profile.

Technical service notice

We advise you to buy Butyl putty to seal the barrel.
The BMW Z3 soft tops produced from January 1997 to November 1998 are equipped with side relief pockets behind the main seam. The relief pockets were later removed. Note that the soft tops are interchangeable. Thus, an original soft top with relief pockets can be replaced by a soft top without relief pockets.
