In September 1966, Peugeot launched the 204 coupes and convertibles. The project was based on taking back as many elements as possible from the sedan in order to lower the cost of production and therefore the selling price. The market was occupied at the time by the Fiat 850 and others Renault Caravelle . The 204 cabriolet is optionally equipped with a hard-top. Pretty, even elegant, the 204 cabriolet is particularly wise. It will have a great success until March 1970 when the 204 will draw its reference. It will make way for the 304 cabriolet , more efficient with heavier lines but more manly.
