Upon its arrival in 1981, the Porsche 944 strengthens the Porsche lineup, which at the time consisted of only 3 models: the 911, the 924, and the 928. The convertible version would only make its appearance in 1989, two years before the end of the production of the 944. This model thus completes the range of FMR (Front Mid-engine, Rear-wheel-drive) Porsches. Like the 928, it features the Transaxle, a unique transmission that connects the front-mounted engine to the gearbox located at the rear, allowing for better weight distribution. Over the years, the 944 underwent several evolutions: 944 Turbo in 1984 (225 hp), 944 S in 1987 (190 hp), 944 Turbo S (250 hp), 944 S2 in 1989, the same year as the 944 S2 cabriolet. Produced for just two years, the convertible version sold 6980 units, including 625 very rare units in Turbo Cabriolet version...
