Chrysler LeBaron cabriolet

The Chrysler LeBaron Cabriolet succeeds the Chrysler Cordoba Cabriolet, produced between 1975 and 1983. Its name comes from the eponymous coachbuilder who, in the 1930s, created certain bodywork for high-end models of the brand. It follows in the lineage of Chrysler convertibles, which begins with the 1931 Chrysler Imperial Phaeton. The LeBaron Cabriolet is positioned in the segment of affordable luxury convertibles, competing with rivals like the Ford Mustang LX Cabriolet and the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Cabriolet. This convertible will be offered during its production in several finishes and engine options, including a 3.0L V6 Mistubishi from 1990 onwards, equipped with a robust vinyl soft top allowing for open-air driving. It is also possible to add a wind deflector, also known as a windscreen, to reduce drafts in the cabin. One of the model's peculiarities was its retractable headlights available until 1992. A special Town and Country version of the convertible was offered from 1983 to 1986 with faux-wood side decorations.
