Assembly assistance

For testing and adjusting the throttle plate idle position (the clearance in closed position) of the secondary stage of two cylinder carburetors with the synchrometer carburetor air flow meter.

1. Simply place the synchrometer flowmeter in the secondary throat, using an adapter if necessary, and check the airflow at idle.

2. Actuate the secondary throttle (on the lever of the linkage or the vacuum connection) quickly up to approx. 10 kg / h and release it. Repeat several times to check if the throttle valve moves freely and still returns fully to idle.

3. If the throttle, shaft, and linkage move freely, the flow meter will still display the old idle airflow value.

4. If the air flow still returns to this old value and if this value is within the tolerance (approx. 1.5 kg / h at idle), the mixing force and speed can be adjusted and stay that way. P >

5. If the air flow shows a higher or lower value and changes each time the throttle is actuated, the mixture strength and the idle speed are also disturbed. There is no point in attempting the adjustments. The throttle valve, shaft, linkage, or rod must first be corrected to be able to move freely before a stable idle adjustment can be achieved.
